Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969, Dave Blunt is a 1961 graduate who holds the school's track records in the 100-yard dash (9.7) and 220 (21.0). He earned varsity letters in baseball and football, where he ranked as the fastest and most dangerous receiver in the San Diego Section of the C.I.F. Dave, who captured the 100- and 200-yard dashes in the San Diego Section C.I.F. track finals, and starred in the Cougars' march to the first S.D.C.I.F. football championship, became a world-class sprinter at the University of Oregon from 1962 to 1964 with times of 9.3 and 20.6. He was a member of the Ducks' 440-yard relay team that established a world record. Upon graduation, Dave became a key executive of Harborlite Corporation in Vicksburg, Michigan.
