

The first former E.H.S. athlete to be inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 1968, Steve Thurlow is a 1960 graduate of Escondido High. He was All-Metro League in football, basketball and baseball, earning All-C.I.F. honors in football his senior year. Steve starred in the then annual Breitbard All-Star Game matching San Diego and Los Angeles graduating seniors – and the North-South Shrine Game in the L.A. Coliseum. Converted from quarterback to running back at Stanford University, Steve was named a college All-America in 1964. He was a powerful running back for the New York Giants and Washington Redskins of the National Football League in the mid-1960s, before becoming a successful executive with a Wall Street financial institution.
